York Position on new UKVI English language requirements

Sub-degree programmes (Pre-sessional English courses / foundation programmes). 

Students who apply for a pre-sessional using an IELTS test taken after April 5th 2015 MUST have taken that test at a UKVI approved test centre

UG/PG degree programmes  

Students using an IELTS test test taken after April 5th 2015 to meet the language condition for their UG or PG degree programme are recommended to take that test at a UKVI approved test centre. However, the University will "vouch" for those students who have taken a test at a non-approved IELTS centre. The University will also vouch for students who are using a Pearson or Cambridge English language test.
